Commissioning & Technical Handover
Proving Performance and Securing Operational Readiness.
The final phase of an engineering project is not simply about turning the power on; it is about systematically proving that your new asset performs safely, legally, and repeatably under full production loads. Stage Five is where your capital investment is officially validated and integrated into your live plant operations.
Don’t let a brilliant engineering design get bogged down at commissioning.

Stage 5
At Legacy Manufacturing Solutions, we don't believe in "handover drama." We apply a rigorous, three-tier commissioning framework to eliminate guesswork and ensure a seamless transition to your operations team. By measuring actual output against your original business objectives, we ensure your new process line delivers the exact commercial value and predictability you paid for.
1. Installation Qualification (IQ)
Before any equipment is formalised for running, we conduct a meticulous static verification process to ensure the asset has been installed exactly as designed.
As-Built Verification
Checking that all physical machinery, process pipework, structural fabrications, and electrical loops perfectly match the final detailed design drawings and P&IDs.
Component Auditing
Verifying that all materials of construction, valve ratings, instrumentation ranges, and safety devices are correct, fully certified, and accompanied by calibration certificates.
Hygienic and Regulatory Compliance
Ensuring that all line connections, utility tie-ins, and zoning layouts meet strict UK regulatory, health and safety, and food hygiene standards.
2. Operational Qualification (OQ)
Once static checks are complete, we move into dynamic testing. This phase exercises the equipment without product—often using water or safe simulants—to verify that all systems function correctly across their entire operating range.
Functional Loop and Logic Testing
Stress-testing the PLC software architecture, SCADA graphics, emergency stop circuits, interlocking sequences, and alarm thresholds.
Utility and Cycle Verification
Proving that the plant can safely hit and maintain its required technical parameters, such as thermal profiles, pressure cycles, flow rates, and CIP (Clean-in-Place) flow velocities.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Using this safe, non-production window to train your on-site engineering and operations staff on how to safely run, maintain, and troubleshoot the new system.
3. Dynamic Project Planning & Execution Tracking
The Site Acceptance Test is the ultimate technical gateway. We introduce live ingredients or raw materials to run the system under full, real-world production conditions to prove its true capability.
Full-Load Stress-Testing
Running the equipment at target throughput rates over extended shift windows to verify structural, thermal, and mechanical reliability.
Quality and Traceability Auditing
Verifying that the final output perfectly meets your precise product specifications, packaging standards, and quality tolerances without generating excessive waste.
Handovers to Live Operations
Managing the formal transition of the asset from the contractor network over to your internal production teams, backed by a complete, audit-ready technical file.
4. Rigorous KPI Measurement
A project is only complete when it delivers the exact business benefits outlined in your initial business case. We audit the performance of the stabilised line against the Key Performance Indicators agreed in Stage Three.
OEE and Throughput Metrics
Measuring actual Overall Equipment Effectiveness, cycle times, and output capacity to ensure the vendor has met their contractual performance guarantees.
Financial and Utility Validation
Verifying that the new installation hits its operational cost targets, including energy efficiencies, labour reduction, and raw material yield improvements.
Final Capital Close-Out
Providing your executive board with a transparent, data-backed report that proves the project has successfully landed, the CapEx budget is closed, and the operational risks have been entirely designed out.

Your Reputation, Protected
We apply a rigorous, three-tier commissioning framework—IQ, OQ, SAT—to eliminate guesswork and ensure a seamless transition to your operations team. By measuring actual output against your original business objectives, we ensure your new process line delivers the exact commercial value and predictability you paid for.
A project that passes Stage Five cleanly is one your board can report on with confidence. The CapEx is closed. The KPIs are met. The operations team owns it. That is the standard we deliver to, every time.

Our Guarantee
At Legacy Manufacturing Solutions, we stand behind the quality, accuracy, and reliability of every project we deliver.
We guarantee that all work completed by our team will meet the agreed outcomes as defined during the project specification phase and formally approved by the client. If, for any reason, we do not meet the outcomes we have committed to, we will deliver the outstanding elements at our own cost.
This guarantee reflects our commitment to accountability, transparency, and consistently delivering value for our clients.
Your success is our priority — and we ensure it by backing every project with this promise.
